St Joseph's School is a dynamic K-12 coeducational school providing quality Catholic education in the picturesque Avon Valley. Northam, being only 90 minutes from the Perth CBD, is an ideal location to enjoy the best of both country and city life.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, passionate and innovative candidates for the following position commening 1 January 2021. This is a Seconded position for 12 months with the possibility of it becoming ongoing. This is an excellent opportunity for a person seeking a senior leadership position in Primary education to step into a role with higher responsibilities.

The Head of Primary is a member of the School Leadership Team and has the major responsibility for the running of the Primary Campus and reports directly to the Principal. This position requires a dynamic, inspirational and future-focused person to work collaboratively with the Principal to implement a curriculum based on an integration of faith, culture and life that promotes the religious, intellectual, social, cultural and physical development of the children. St Joseph's School promotes the Charisms of the Marist Brothers and Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition.

Selection Criteria:

Special skills are needed and applications are invited from applicants who possess the following attributes:

- be a person who can display an understanding of, and has a commitment to, Catholic education;

- demonstrate educational leadership with the ability to mentor and inspire teachers to implement future-focused practices and pedagogies that enhance learning;

- demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and strengthen a collaborative learning culture with all stakeholders;

- support the Principal competently in the four domains of leadership in a Catholic School: Catholic Identity, Education, Community and Stewardship;

- be highly organised and demonstrate a successful record of administrative experience;

- have a proven ability to lead staff in enhancement of instructional practices, curriculum development and professional learning with a focus on school priorities and goals;

- possess a high level of initiative, innovation and the ability to work as part of a collaborative and dynamic leadership team;

- be an experienced teacher with outstanding classroom teaching skills (minimum 7 years);

- possess the expertise and capacity to lead staff in ICT intergration across the curriculum.

Qualifications Required:

- have relevant four year tertiary qualification

- have a minimum of seven years teaching experience

- have a current TRBWA registration and a current Working with Children Card

- Accreditation for Leadership - either the completion of or showing progress towards completion of this Accreditation. This must be completed prior to the end of the first Term.
