Position details


• 41 weeks per year (including the week before students commence Term One)

The Science Lab Technician will provide laboratory and classroom preparation as well as support to our dedicated team in the Learning Area of Science. They will have a sound working knowledge of the Sciences and experience working in a school environment. This role forms an essential part of the department and contributes to its smooth running.

Selection Criteria:

• Previous experience in a school laboratory, or laboratory environment

• Evidence of proven ability to organise and prepare equipment and materials as well as provide technical support to Science teaching staff and programs

• Experience in assisting in the maintenance of a Science Laboratory in accordance with the relevant current Legislative requirements, including the preparation and storage areas, and the equipment and chemicals

• A current Working with Children Check and valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)

Qualifications Required:

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, or equivalent
