With the Head Office based in Sydney, there is a new requirement for a National Logistics Manager in the Adelaide site to improve operations within South Australia and nationally.
Your new role
As the National Logistics Manager you will have full ownership, and be responsible for the management of the entire logistics network in Australia.
The purpose of your role is to enable and improve operational performance across Australia. This is a strategic role and whilst good processes and procedures you will be required to have a strong focus on continuous improvement to maximise operations and improve efficiencies. In your remit you will also manage the logistics and warehouse teams in South Australia and be the single point of contact for the 3PL providers.
You will be responsible for the management of the Annual Operating Costs and adapting and developing changes to manage any costs changes that you identify. You will also be tasked with improving the utilisation of technology and IT systems; striving for continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a proven logistics leader with strong experience in implementation/optimisation of operational processes and the management of 3PL providers. You will have a continuous improvement mindset, and relentlessly be striving to better processes and systems. Your system skills and strength within data analysis will be very highly regarded as you are reporting directly to the National Director of Operations, who values your input and ideas. You will be a self-starter, who takes pride in what you do and enjoys managing your department and taking them on a journey of career growth and development. This role has ever changing demands and you will have strong organisational skills to manage such. The stakeholders for your role will be at all levels, both internally and externally; from local warehouse operators, production managers, overseas suppliers, and business leaders within the hospitality industry. Therefore, the ability to build strong relationships face to face and over the phone will be key to your success.
- Sound experience, or qualifications, within Logistics management
- Excellent management of 3PL operations, with the ability to improve efficiency
- Strong system knowledge and ability to implement internal system improvements
- Action and outcome oriented
- Strong ability to interrogate data to find areas for improvement
- Strong ability to prioritise work commitments aligned with organisational goals
- ERP end-to-end business experience
- Great people management skills with the ability to train/develop staff
- Proven experience in ensuring products are getting to/from locations on time (DIFOT management), through management of the freight team
