An exciting and rewarding opportunity has become available for a highly motivated individual to join Telstra Enterprise in Canberra as a Bid and Proposal Executive servicing the Department of Defence. As a senior member of Telstra Enterprise’s largest account, you will play a critical and strategic role in growing the Department of Defence account. You will leverage your strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders across the Department, in which to understand business requirements, and propose innovative, others and embed a customer-first mindset across the team and our organisation solutions. As the Bid and Proposal Principal, you will apply your deep knowledge of the Department, and strategic requirements, to promote Telstra products and services for the Department of Defence. You will deliver against the following responsibilities: Delivering compliant, professionally produced and remarkable proposals within customer-defined timeframes and amplify the opportunities in the business area. Applying deep technical and professional expertise in bid and project management to analyse and understand the customer’s requirements, synthesising domain knowledge to drive the completion of requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and a variety of other requests to deliver sales and revenue growth targets for Telstra. Leading initiatives to maximise the promotion of Telstra ICT solutions through the implementation of strategic engagement campaigns. Leveraging your extensive experience and knowledge to identify and assess potential challenges which sit within your domain. Authentically engaging with and effectively influencing a variety of stakeholders (internal and external Defence) to lead and co-ordinate the preparation and review of proposals (RFP’s, RFIs, RFQs etc.), seizing the opportunity to deliver high-quality outputs, often under pressure and to challenging deadlines. Generating and applying insights to define strategic and innovative solutions that address the root cause of potential issues identified throughout the bid process, using lessons learned to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Empowering and supporting others to execute on priorities by coaching and developing engaged and passionate team members to deliver sales and revenue growth targets for assigned portfolios and to improve customer service delivery through applying problem-solving to anticipate and resolve issues in the business area. Be sought out by others for your impressive bid and proposal knowledge to provide guidance and direction to problem solve, helping to define the approach to take, or the factors to consider for risk tracking and management throughout the bid and project management processes. To be successful in the role, you must have: Current NV1 Security Clearance. Extensive and proven experience and expertise in sales and bid management processes and proposal development. Pre-existing relationships with the Department of Defence. Be customer-focused and possess strong consultative and proven leadership skills. A proven track record of developing and maintaining multi-level relationships and engagements, both within the organisation and with clients.
