About the Role

As NCR’s Business Analyst to join our professional services team on NCR’s innovative retail solutions, including hardware, software and services. Your technical background will support you to work closely with our team to analyze current processes and focus on continuous improvement. Working closely with a market leader, you will be responsible to meet NCR’s company objectives and drive results.

To succeed you will understand the retail environment and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Program Manager, Professional Services and be based in Norwest.


- Requirements Analysis

Gather customer requirements, conducts analysis on high-level requirements.

Provide retail industry knowledge to business and technical team members.

Evaluate proposed change requests to existing solutions to identify potential adverse impact.

Ascertain that newly implemented/ revised solutions and supporting process are meeting end-user requirements and business objectives.

Conduct gap analysis against a new market opportunity.

- Solution Design

Acquire an in-depth product knowledge.

Participate in solution design sessions; effort and planning estimation.

Create high-level design documents, logical business rules, epic writing and low-level user stories.

Conduct capability assessment and help set right expectation to stakeholders.

- Deployment

Understand and work on agile projects.

Assist with documentation preparation and review for release distribution.

Validate new functions developed against approved requirements.

Utilize analytical skills, problem solving capabilities and in-depth solution knowledge to conduct configuration and readiness for deployment.

- Defect Analysis

Analyze defects and provide suitable solutions.

Help develop testing requirements and plans to validate application changes and supporting business processes.

Support onsite teams testing of new development deliveries

Work closely with developers, QA teams and customer for deeper analysis as required

- Stakeholder Management

Work closely with clients, Chief Product Officer, other business analysts, developers and testers in analysis and validation of business requirements.

Maintain client relationship to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Work with team members, in different time zones.

Skills and Qualifications

- BS or MS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.

- 2 – 5 years of experience in conducting requirements analysis, technical investigation and troubleshooting.

- Proven Experience with technical writing including solution design documents, business rules and user stories.

- Ability to communicate effectively across various functional and multicultural groups in a complex, global environment.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while often working independently and with little direct supervision to accomplish goals.

- Ability to recognize high-level opportunities for improvement and change.

- Ability to assimilate and apply new job related information in a timely manner.
