Appointment Pool



Perth Modern School is seeking to establish a pool of Japanese Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies, which may arise during the 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.





Successful applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school approach to the gifted and talented educational language programs offered in the school. The applicant may teach Japanese from Year 7 – 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)

Successful applicants will be relationship focused and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a team environment. You will be motivated, innovative and demonstrate an engaging teaching style. You will reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities, including beyond the classroom, which enable students to achieve their highest potential. Language teachers are expected to participate in co-curricular activities including the provision of overseas language study tours. Teachers are expected to engage in the pastoral care of students through the Advocacy program.

Perth Modern School currently operates on a seven-line grid/2-week rotation timetable. Centrally located in Subiaco, the school provides a differentiated and compacted curriculum that develops the skills of gifted students. ELIGIBILITY



Employees will be required to :



- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Checkl and

TRAINING



Employees will be required to :



- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and

- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.



The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
