A little bit about us



Finance, Legal and IT Division provides high quality business services, systems and advice to Ministers, Parliament and the department. The Division is responsible for providing ministerial and parliamentary services, financial management services, human resource management services, information technology services, legal services, communications services, governance and other corporate services.



The opportunity we have available



The SharePoint Services team is responsible for the design and delivery of the department’s intranet and collaboration tools.

We also provide quality and responsive support and maintenance of various information systems and drive several project initiatives with a view to improve business processes and information management practices within the department.





We are seeking a talented web professional with SharePoint experience and a passion for improving user experience in the workplace. Teams and related Microsoft 365 app skills and experience are highly desirable but not essential as training will be provided on the job.



What will you do?





Under the direction of the SharePoint Services Team Leader, the successful applicant will be expected to:



- Analysis, design and optimisation of the department’s digital workplace solution (SharePoint Online, Teams etc) applying user experience techniques and standards.

- Assist in the development, support and maintenance of both internal and external sites within the Department with a user centred focus.

- Provide technical advice, support, and training to the users of SharePoint/Teams including problem solving and user management.

- Design, implementation and maintenance of internal SmartForms (currently Intelledox)

- Liaise with internal and external service providers on technical and non-technical issues

- Write and maintain technical documentation

- Conduct web statistic reporting

- Assist with projects, tasks and duties as otherwise directed.

Who are we looking for?





The team are seeking a talented, creative, web professional who;



- Demonstrated experience in user experience design practices and principles

- Demonstrated experience in Web Design

- Demonstrated experience in SharePoint

- Generates and implements new ideas with impact

- Is customer focused

- Communicates effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders providing quality services and advice

- Experience with HTML, CSS/ SharePoint is desirable



Eligibility requirements



Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:



- Citizenship : To be eligible for employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, applicants must be an Australian citizen. Only in exceptional circumstances will the department consider waiving this requirement.

- Health Assessment : The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department’s preferred medical provider.

- Security Clearance : The successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at a minimum of Baseline Vetting. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
