Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) is one of Australia’s leading health and beauty companies. The company’s assets include the Priceline/Priceline Pharmacy brand with more than 475 stores nationally; the Clearskincare beauty services clinics with more than 44 locations across Australia and New Zealand; a national pharmaceutical distribution network and pharmacy services business which includes the Soul Pattinson and Pharmacist Advice pharmacy brands; and a consumer products manufacturing, supply and sales business in New Zealand.

We are currently looking for a Key Account Manager to join the Consumer Brands team. The Key Account Manager will assist in the developing and executing the strategic sales and marketing plans for key accounts. Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, the successful incumbent will be part of a dynamic team of professionals who plan and implement our sales & marketing strategy aligned to commercial objectives. We are seeking a highly skilled, adaptable, and reliable professional who is adept with analysis, product and service promotion, you will play a pivotal role in delivering product marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, increased sales and focus on customer excellence.

This role includes the responsibility for (but not limited to):

- Responsibility for managing the customer relationship from a Key Account perspective

- Ensure that customer support is delivered including management of the internal stakeholders/customer facing functions are informed of all key elements of the customer relationship management

- Ensure that accurate order placement, customer queries, any required customer reporting (internal & external) are completed by the required date of delivery

- Communicate opportunities for product / service development internally in a consolidated, concise manner

- Analysis of competitive landscape aligned to Consumer Brands Business Unit commercial objectives

- Preparation and execution of tailored customer business plans

- Regular catch up with BDM’s & PBL ensuring alignment and transparency of commercial objectives to specific target groups communication correspondence

- Preparation of performance reporting in relation to key accounts versus achievement to budget performance targets

- Responsible for individual expenses as per agreed business plan

- Adherence to company budgets and profit margin Attain agreed revenue, unit and project targets

- Negotiation and closure of sales within budgeted spend limits.

- Provide field intelligence on competitor’s movements to National Sales Manager (pricing, sites, sales structure, etc)

- Maintenance of commercial understanding of pharmacy financials and the ability to sell a financial solution benefit to potential customers aligned to consumer brands strategy for Pharmacy Health and Priceline

Our ideal candidate will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in a business/science discipline

- A minimum of 24 months’ experience with a pharmacy sales/pharmacy consulting/pharmacy business development role, preferably within the dispensary practice area

- Preferably business management experience with Key Accounts

- Insight and business selling methodology experience to pharmacy owners (desirable)

- Working knowledge of pharmacy dispensary operating systems and OTC retail landscape

- Understanding of project management and pharmacy business challenges

- Financial modelling capability within a pharmacy.

- Comprehensive understanding of the sales process and ability to implement successfully

- Excellent organisation and planning skills

- Financial modelling capability – advance excel proficiency

- Understanding of the various pharmacy, group and key accounts landscapes

- Established relationships with pharmacists at retail pharmacy and hospital pharmacy level.

- Understanding of the pharmacy logistics supply chain, preferably to the pharmacy dispensary.

- In depth understanding of major current issues facing the pharmacy practice and market landscape
