The Role



We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic person to work in our Patient Services team at Epworth Richmond. 



This role will include processing bookings for elective and emergency patients, conducting health fund eligibility checks, admitting and discharging of patients and working in bed allocations.  The role will also involve responding promptly to enquiries and requests, handling patient accounts, compiling estimates as well as general administrative duties including data entry.

This role may also involve admitting patients and completing fund eligibility checks for patients who are admitted via our Emergency Department.

In this role you will liaise closely with doctors, secretaries, and patients, responding promptly to bookings enquiries, requests and general administrative duties.



Skills & Experience



- Excellent communication skills

- Strong computer literacy

- Excellent attention to detail

- Strong customer service focus

- Ability to prioritise in a timely and accurate manner

- Ability to cope under pressure and make informed decisions according to hospital needs



Previous administration experience in the health care sector, medical or health fund industry would be advantageous.



The Patient Services Centre Richmond is open 7 days a week from 0600hrs to 2000hrs, and Emergency is 24hrs. The successful applicant will need to be flexible to work across these shift times, with a rotating roster.
