About the role
Provide quality support and services to people with a disability.
Provide support that is client focused, community oriented, and sensitive.
Assist people with a disability to maintain key organisational and other relationships.
Assist people with disabilities to improve daily living skills.
Encourage clients to practice personal hygiene and educate on healthy living habits
Encourage clients to assist in daily household tasks.
Mentor clients in building productive relationships and using effective conflict resolution strategies.
Work together as a team for the common goal of improving the life of our valued clients

Skills and experience
Demonstrated effective listening, empathy and communication skills
Experience in working with people with a disability and challenging behaviours
Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people
Understanding of the principles of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to work with families, and as a united team
Willingness to abide by the Disability Services Acts and Standards, Work Health & Safety Act, NDIS Code of Conduct
Competence with documentation
Must be available for both day, weekend and if suitable a chance for overnight shifts with Supported Living clients
Current QLD driver's license
Registered and fully insured vehicle
Blue Card and Yellow card or willing to obtain
First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
Medication Administration Training or willing to obtain
Clear National Police check issued within the last 12 months willing to obtain
Mobile phone with access to internet for your roster
