This position is accountable for providing technical support, advice and recommendations to ensure the effective operations of Art & Design Programs including Fee for Service and Short Courses at Chisholm.



The position is expected to ensure the appropriate allocation of materials and resources to support the delivery of programs, drawing upon knowledge and experience gained from the various trades and associated industries, their processes and practices.



The incumbent is a key and active participant of the various trade teams, and will also assist in the promotion of regular programs ensuring that customer service standards are maintained.

A key deliverable of this role is to oversee issues relating to OH&S; for areas within our trade facilities and respond to the procedures identified within government regulations.



Your key accountabilities will be to:



- Ensure consistency with the Child Safe Standards and respond in accordance with Institute’s policies and agreed practices

- Support the diverse demands for preparatory procedures and practices for government funded and fee for service courses.

- Ensure the appropriate allocation of materials and resources are provided to support delivery of programs within the specific industry areas.

- Liaise with suppliers to determine the best and most economic products to be purchased.

- Organise the repair of equipment and workstations to ensure the efficient operation of the full range of departmental equipment and resources and maintaining systems and records that are in compliance with auditing regulations.

- Provide support, advice and recommendations to ensure the effective operations of the Art & Design programs, including Fee for Service and short courses.

- Ensuring correct Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) practices and procedures are maintained in accordance to legislation.

- Ensuring that the Art & Design procedures comply with statutory requirements under the ‘Handling and Storage of Dangerous Goods’ legislation.





ABOUT YOU



You will bring the following skills and experience with you:



- Essential relevant vocational qualification and appropriate experience in a Arts & Deisgn

- Ability to carry out hands on technical activities, coupled with demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools

- Demonstrated computer skills across systems

- Sound understanding of OH&S; issues in relation to materials, equipment and practices.

- Experience in stock control, basic financial control and data collection procedures

- Desirable Experience working within the Vocational Education and Training sector

- Desirable High level Word processing and Excel computing skills.



In addition to this you will enjoy working collaboratively within a diverse team, be highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
