The Gateways Behaviour Support Team is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Officer, who will work closely with the Authorised Program Officer and review all of the Behaviour Support Plans to ensure that they meet all legislative and organisational requirements before they are authorised by the APO and VSP (Victorian Senior Practitioner). The PBS Officer will also play a role to ensure that Gateways meet the reporting requirements to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

This is a Fulltime position.

What you need


- Tertiary qualification or currently studying either Psychology / Occupational Therapy / Social Work / Diploma Community Services or have at least 5 years’ experience developing / overseeing behaviour supports.

- Experience providing services to people and children with disability with complex behaviour needs.

- A working knowledge of the NDIS Commission Behaviour Support Rules and relevant disability legislation.

- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in high demand environments.

- Strong communication skills including effective interpersonal, conflict negotiation and resolution skills.

- Demonstrated understanding of BPS principles.

- Strong written communication to deliver effective plans and reporting in an NDIS environment.

- Proven flexibility, adaptability and able to respond and adjust easily to change in work demands.

- Computer literacy, including proficiency in in electronic records and data management tools.

- Internet-enabled device for Time & Attendance when working offsite.

- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a National Police check, International Police check (if required), a current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), current Victorian Drivers Licence, and the right to work in Australia.

Successful applicants will also be required to undertake the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission online Worker Orientation training module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ prior to attending induction. This is a pre-employment requirement and if not completed, employment will not proceed.
