About the role:

Box Hill Institute is recruiting staff to work for their Corrections Education Project, located at a correctional facility site/prison in the Western suburbs of Melbourne (near Deer Park). This role will involve direct contact with prisoners (students).

We are currently seeking an Arts/ATSICA (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts) Teacher to join our team.

The Teacher will provide innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students within Corrections Victoria’s sites to support student success in courses and thereby improve their employment or educational pathways. The position reports to the Site Manager and is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers and employees of the BHI Group at all levels.

The Corrections Education Project provides delivery of nationally accredited education/industry based programs in a number of Victorian Prisons.

Your skills and experience:

Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) and must have already completed or be in the process of completing the TAE40116 update.

Additionally, applicants must hold a Certificate III or above in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts or Certificate III or above in Visual Arts.
