About the role
The position forms part of the Inshore Operations delivery component of the Fleet Marine Services Contract ( FMSC ) which Serco Defence holds with the Commonwealth of Australia. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position requires the incumbent to provide professional seamanship and marine engineering outputs to support the safe operation and maintenance of various sized vessels and equipment.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- As a minimum, a valid Certificate of Competency as issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA, or recognised alternative) as a Master less than twenty-four metres (24m) Near Coastal (NC)
- Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 NC(I02); or
- Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 NC(I03).
- Current Driver’s Licence (National Code Class C).
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Extensive appropriate maritime industry experience relevant to the position
- Familiarity with Asset Management Systems (i.e. AMOS).
- Familiarity with vessel monitoring and stability systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of Defence Security Clearance–Baseline. |
