Students from participating secondary schools in the Casey area access the Tech School for specialised programs involving STEAM and Project-based Learning. Casey Tech School also delivers professional development for teachers, industry representatives and members of the Casey community as per the strategic vision of the Tech School. Casey Tech School programs focus on building industry capabilities in: Biomedical and Healthcare technologies; Advanced Manufacturing; and Smart, Sustainability measures within the community.
The STEAM Teacher’s primary role will be to develop, teach and facilitate the delivery of leading-edge STEAM-based, discovery learning programs to students in the new Casey Tech School facility.
Particular emphasis for this role will be on providing technical expertise to support interdisciplinary learning in Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Technology.
- please note: this is not a TAFE vocational educational teaching position.
You will have relevant qualifications at a minimum of Graduate Degree level in Education with specialisation in the Mathematical and/or Physical Sciences.
Experience working as a teacher in the secondary education or tertiary sector is essential; however, the position may also suit a graduate teacher with contemporary educational experiences and related industry expertise.
Other technical qualifications in a STEAM field or related discipline, or equivalent experience in industry will be highly desirable.
Crucial to your success will be your passion for collaborative learning and significant expertise within the fields of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM). You are a highly motivated and team-oriented educator, with a flexible and contemporary outlook. You possess great communication skills and strong drive to ensure that your work impacts positively on the lives and aspirations of our future generation. You love working with young people.
