Wastewater Planning Engineer

An exciting Wastewater Planning Engineer position has opened up in our Melbourne-based Water team. This role will involve contributing to Stantec’s business goals by delivering wastewater planning projects and utilising decision support tools such as risk-based frameworks,
hydraulic models and data analysis.
Responsibilities will include undertaking proposal and planning projects, writing reports to a high standard and liaising with clients in order to grow and expand the water business in Australia. The candidate will work with more senior engineers to provide high quality deliverables and ensure that this is done within budget and timeframes to guarantee that outcomes meet or exceed both the client and Stantec’s expectations.
Additional responsibilities in this role:
Undertake hydraulic assessments
Deliver wastewater master plans and feasibility studies
Overseeing the work done by our graduate engineers
Mentor and develop graduates
Deliver work under the review and oversight of Principal Engineers
Contribute to proposal and bid development in order to support business development activities
Ideally you will have an undergraduate qualification in Engineering, Science or Mathematics or another relevant field and have 5 to 10 years’ experience working in wastewater planning within a consulting, government or water authority environment.
Skills required in this position include:
Excellent level of written and oral communication skills
Proficient user of Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience using hydraulic models, including InfoWorks, ICM or InfoSWMM
Although not essential, the ability to use water hydraulic models such as InfoWater, InfoWorks WS or Bentley WaterGEMS would improve application
Proficient in Hydraulic Assessment
Proficient in ArcGIS and MapInfo
Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously to collaboratively achieve business objectives
Research and analysis skills to understand trends in (discipline) planning and inform proposals work

Wastewater Planning Engineer - Melbourne
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate qualification in Engineering, Science or Mathematics or another relevant field. They will be a member of a relevant professional association, and have 5 to 10 years’ experience working in wastewater planning within a consulting, government or water authority environment.
