About the position

Reporting to a Senior Partnerships Manager, the Business Development Executive will assist the commercial team in identifying prospective corporate partners, engaging prospective partners, building strong relationships within the respective business and ultimately on-boarding new partners to the Parramatta Eels partner portfolio.

This is a full-time role that requires a proactive, energetic and approachable individual who has a history of building strong relationships and procuring new business.


Undertake prospecting initiatives & market research within key business categories, and the Western Sydney business district, to identify suitable commercial partners

Develop proposal documents and present relevant opportunities to senior stakeholders

Support the broader commercial operations of the club to identify and deliver opportunities across the likes of signage, digital and hospitality sales

Update and maintain sponsorship administration systems such as Sponserve, as well as the commercial departments CRM platform and sales pipeline

Collaborate with manager in preparing pipeline and sales updates for club senior management on a regular basis

Assist in the delivery of existing partners benefits on game day during the season

Research and produce case studies on best in class sponsorship activity, communicating market trends and activity to the broader commercial team on an ongoing basis

About you

Minimum three years’ experience with proven capability in business development, preferably within the Sport & Entertainment industry

A proven track record of working through the full sales cycle i.e prospecting potential customers, building relationships within targeted businesses and ultimately securing new business

A proactive, energetic approach with excellent communication skills that allow you to have structured and objective-led conversations with key stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to present to and engage with senior stakeholders

Availability to work outside of normal working hours at the likes of weekend games and Club stakeholder events

Possess sound commercial acumen, an understanding of marketing strategy and the role of sponsorship within the marketing framework

Tertiary qualifications highly regarded

Proficiency with MS Office applications
