Sino Iron is the largest magnetite mining and downstream processing operation in Australia, located 100 km southwest of Karratha in the mining hub of the Pilbara.
Our fully integrated operation features an open pit mine, serviced by the biggest haul trucks in the world, a six line concentrator and port terminal facilities at nearby Cape Preston. Our state-of-the-art power station and desalination plant are amongst the largest in the State.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed transactional Procurement Officer to join our large Perth based team. The successful candidate will support the business through the delivery of stock and direct purchasing support in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
The role actively contributes to educate and influence stakeholders within CPM's operational departments so that they develop and maintain excellent Procurement and P2P habits.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare and process Purchase orders daily in an efficient and timely manner while ensuring compliance with approved policies and procedures,
- Source products and services for business stakeholders,
- Liaise directly with site customers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of procured goods and services,
- Monitor and expedite supplier deliveries to ensure they conform with operational schedules and plans.
- Arrange and schedule freight transport for critical requirements.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies,
- Promote Commercial and Supply chain principals,
- Assist end users and stakeholders with Commercial process queries and issues,
- Assist and support the broader Procurement department when required,
To be considered for this role you will:
- Have proven experience within a transaction purchasing role.
- Hold a high level of computer literacy with direct experience using SAP ECC or a similar ERP System,
- Understand and have experience supporting Procure to Pay principals while also holding a strong commercial acumen.
- High degree of analytical skills and ability to read and interpret data,
- Minimum 5 years procurement experience with a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role of at a large-scale mining operation or similar,
- Have demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage various tasks,
- Excel in a dynamic environment with various stakeholders, both internal and external, by demonstrating flexible and adaptive work capabilities
- Be a team player who is outcome focused.
