Melbourne | Eastern Metropolitan Director of Audit and Assurance 12 month fixed term contract Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service. Our 17,000 staff work across over 40 care locations, and we proudly provide healthcare to 25% of Melbourne’s population. The work of our Quality and Safety team is increasingly important in providing a consistently safe environment for our people, patients and visitors alike. We are now looking to appoint a motivated, experienced professional to manage internal and external audit activities, legislative compliance and insurance for a 12 month contract. This management role is required to ensure that Monash Health has effective control mechanisms in place to ensure compliance and appropriate governance. The role impacts on all aspects of the health services with audits undertaken across corporate and clinical areas. Responsibilities Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement through internal and external audit activities and follow through of audit recommendations to completion. Supported by a small team, your key result areas will include: Ensuring that the internal audit plan is fully implemented throughout the year; Establishing and maintaining strong engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, including internal and external partners and statutory and regulatory bodies; Close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure progression of audit recommendations and legislative obligations; and Identifying areas for improvement through internal reviews as required. Your qualifications, experience and expertise You are tertiary qualified and can demonstrate significant experience in the management of audit activities. With highly developed presentation, report writing, analytical and communication skills, you are adept at interacting and influencing at the highest levels of an organisation. Your collaborative approach, prioritisation and time management skills enable you to work effectively across all levels and to manage multiple deliverables concurrently. Postgraduate qualifications and previous experience in the health sector will be highly regarded. A current motor vehicle Driver’s Licence is required as the role will require some travel between Monash Health sites.
