defence and the vast majority of the Australian population.The IT Security Technology Strategy role resides within Chief Technology Office (CTO) group within nbn. The CTO group is responsible for nbn?s long-term, 10-year, technology strategy, end-to-end technology capability architecture, and evaluation of next generation security threats, technology innovations, and threat mitigation strategies.A bit about your roleThe purpose of the Security Technology Strategy Manager role is to develop the Security Technology Strategy and incorporate security perspectives into the strategy documents, blueprints, white papers and other deliverables of the CTO. This role shall provide deep domain expertise to the office of the CTO on Information Technology (IT) security futures and initiatives. Engagements in support of this purpose begin with a detailed understanding of the current security directions being established by the Corporate Security Group (SG) and gaining additional perspectives through industry engagement, university research studies, simulations, lab & field studies, Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstrations and architectural reviews. The role will be responsible for understanding current and future threats, current response capabilities, and emerging security risk mitigation strategies. The focus will be understanding new and emerging threats, while developing the 10-year strategies and ensuring our Key Architectural Decisions ensure our infrastructure security requirements are met. Concepts discovered or created in the process of researching future trends will be shared and developed in close coordination with the SG and then incorporated into Technology strategies, Key Architectural Decisions and blueprints. Engagements in support of this purpose may take the form of industry engagement, university research studies, simulations, lab & field studies, Proof of Concept demonstrations and architectural reviews.The role will be responsible for Strategy Development, Reporting and Governance, Stakeholder management.We offer a range of flexible working arrangements within our teams. Talk to us about what flexibility could look like for you.Some of the key responsibilities will be:Engage with Corporate Security Group, peers, vendors, universities, other research organizations to understand and analyse next generation systems security threats and risk mitigation technologies, architectures, processes and operational models;Maintain an understanding of current and emerging security threats and nbn security technology roadmaps aligned with the overall technology roadmaps of nbn;Accountable for the development of security technology strategies, frameworks, standards, policies and reference architectures and in actively partnering with the Corporate Security Group in the development of these;Engage with other network operators and industry peers to understand industry best practices both nationally and internationally;Actively partner and collaborate with SG on security strategy and capability architecture documentation, socialisation, and delivery;Senior level presentation to include Executive Committees and Board of Directors;Contributing to the development of a security awareness, education and communications program;Developing and driving Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and demonstrations;Documenting and improving the IT & Systems Security architecture in support of both corporate functions and where traditional IT supports the Network;Contribute to the development of both near term and long-term technology strategies;Lead and/or support the incorporation of security technology strategy into multi-year architectures, blueprints, white papers, etc. published by the CTO;Establishing and maintaining productive and mutually respectful relationships across the nbn team.A bit about youAn influencing, collaborative leader with effective & efficient stakeholder management skills recognized as an experienced expert in cybersecurity technologies, systems operations and business continuity planning & execution with practical experience in leading the development/delivery of enterprise security strategies;Over 10+ years of recognized and rewarded experience in IT & systems security strategy, information security, cyber and protective security policy gained in a critical infrastructure service provider. Working knowledge and experience in deploying and operating industry and defence security standards including ISO 27000 & 20000 and the NIST Cybersecurity Capability Framework (CSF), Australian Essential 8, and familiarity with standards such as DSPF and ISMWorking understanding of the ?Kill Chain? or Mitre ATT&CK; framework and demonstrated experience in developing and communicating security policies, securing networks by understanding and applying cybersecurity solutions in a strategic frameworkAn understanding of cloud, Software-as-a-Service, Development Operations (DevOps), Agile development, and networking technology trends with respect to their impact and/or emerging trends on future security strategies. An ability to dig deep into the details and to self-learn cutting edge developmentsSecurity Operations Centre and incident response experience. Solid understanding of current and emerging Cloud Platform access security. Ability to orchestrate and influence virtual teams to design strong security solution architectures Knowledge of current and emerging threat vectors and strategic techniques to address the treats.Viewed as an influencing, collaborative leader with effective & efficient stakeholder management skills who is confident and proficient to represent the nbn Cybersecurity strategy inside and outside of nbn, be recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) at industry or customer events, demonstrates proven experience in developing and inspiring a culture consistent with company values, motivates & mentors team members and capable of developing the future talent and capability to ensure the security of the nation?s communications long into the future.Lifeat nbnNbn can become your home for a dynamic and complete cybersecurity career.
