About the role
This role is required to work across Council with a range of business units/staff to develop and implement community engagement strategies, including external communications, to identified stakeholders and the community, for a variety of projects.
On a daily basis you will develop high quality communications and engagement plans for projects identifying stakeholders, levels of impact and strategies for engagement applying IAP2 principles and methodologies. You will also research, write and distribute communications materials/ content for on and offline distribution for critical projects and projects where community input into decision-making (community engagement) is required.
About the person
The successful candidate should have previous experience dealing directly with the community and or key stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective public communications and community engagement strategies, plans and activities. Strong time management and organisational skills with an ability to deliver to deadlines - and well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
The successful candidates will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations (or another relevant discipline), or another appropriate qualification combined with relevant communications and engagement experience.
- Completion of or working towards completion of IAP2 certificate in community engagement.
- Ability to translate complex or highly technical information and produce high-quality, accessible communications and engagement content
