Community Capacity Building Officers

Locations: Mandurah/ Armadale/ Cockburn/ Canning/ Northam and Bunbury

Contracts: Permanent full time and permanent part time

Armadale and Cockburn (Full time:  37.5 hours)

Mandurah (Part time: 30 hours)

Canning (Part time : 22.5 hours)

Northam (Part time: 15 hours)

Bunbury (Part time: 30 hours)

Wanslea has been selected as a Partner in the Community to deliver Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) services as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Wanslea is seeking skilled, experienced and qualified Community Capacity Building Officers to join our teams in Mandurah, Armadale, Cockburn, Canning, Northam and Bunbury.







This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a Community Capacity Building Plan incorporating community education, partnerships and community building strategies in line with the NDIA’s program requirements.

Requirements:


- Degree qualification in health promotion, community development or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in designing community engagement frameworks for health, education and/or social organisations
- Experience in coordinating and facilitating consumer and community engagement events and activities within allocated budget
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate community awareness programs
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the needs of children and families with a disability
- Awareness and understanding of the functional and social impact of disability and the importance of social inclusion
- High level verbal and written communication including the ability to engage and communicate with various groups , tailoring communication to suit specific target groups
- Demonstrated understanding of “child safe” environment
- Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet agreed deadlines
- Ability to identify key stakeholders and build strong effective working relationships and partnerships
- Capacity to work creatively and independently, demonstrate initiative and actively develop a supportive team environment
- Demonstrated ability to network and access community resources
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain an ethical and inclusive and nonjudgmental approach to disability
