THE ROLE

The Portfolio Accountant - Property and Facilities will be responsible for finalising month end reports, reviewing entire contract spend with particular detail on cost/variance drivers and identifying trends and saving opportunities.  A main focus will include coordinating monthly rent reviews, standing instructions, invoice approvals and processing vendor payments across all sites in Australia and New Zealand.


This permanent full time role is based in Sydney, NSW:


- Provide full financial reporting across our Australia and New Zealand sites
- Act as the key contact for accounting matters across the entire portfolio
- Manage entire portfolio budget across Australia and New Zealand
- Manage client billing for management fee and 3rd party costs
- Work closely with our clients finance operations to ensure statutory books are maintained in each jurisdiction to enable all local fiscal/legal reporting requirements to be met
- Manage monthly MOR reporting, commercial reviews, quarterly forecasting, and annual budgeting both internally and externally, using client provided tools and templates
- Complete month end close and manage client variance reporting
- Work closely with the operations team with site budget reporting to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Coordinate monthly rent reviews, standing instructions, invoice approvals and vendor payment
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities with regards to rents and vendor invoices
- Action and manage client requests for the resolution of property concerns, rectification of building faults and assisting with enquiries
- Carry out ad hoc duties and other tasks to support the contract as required


Skills & Experience 

- Relevant tertiary qualification in a financial related discipline
- Proven ability in working within an integrated services and property model delivering a Property Management, Facilities Management, Project Management and Financial Management Services
- Extensive Finance Management experience
- A high level of demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word is essential
- Strong demonstrated experience in relationship management with external clients and contractors
- Able to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/ innovative approach to problems and opportunities
