What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse and Midwifery Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Continence is responsible for the provision of high level person centred, evidence-based clinical nursing care and is expected to embrace and lead a practice development philosophy in the delivery of that care.
This outcome will be achieved thorough undertaking comprehensive nursing assessments, referral, providing expert consultation and educational support to staff,





patients and family in the clinic and community setting.
The CNS2 will be responsible for evaluation and supervision in the provision of complex nursing care in the continence area of practice.
The CNS2 will demonstrate the ability to act as a professional role model, delivering a high level capacity for client advocacy and cost benefit practice while demonstrating the ability to act as a change agent, provide effective clinical leadership and the ability to practice as an autonomous professional with the capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team environment. 
The CNS2 will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia’s Standards of Practice.

Selection Criteria:

1. Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrated ability to actively contribute to the development of clinical practice.
2. Relevant post-registration qualifications with at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
3. Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice and service delivery.
4. Demonstrated ability to carry out an extended role in the specialised field.
5. Commitment to contribute to own and the teams professional development, to act as a resource person and mentor to others within the specialty.
6. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requirements of patients in the specialty field.
7. Demonstrated ability or willingness to develop local procedures from NSW health policy directives.
8. Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment of clinical competencies within the wound specialty environment.
