Early Childhood Practitioner - Great Southern

Location: Albany

Contract: Permanent part time (30 hours)


Wanslea has been selected as a Partner in the Community to deliver Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) services as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).


Wanslea is a seeking skilled, experienced and qualified Early Childhood Practitioner to join our team in Albany.


This position is responsible for the provision of best-practice early childhood assessment, planning and early intervention for children with developmental delays and/or disabilities and their families and the development and implementation of a Community Capacity Building Plan incorporating community education,





partnerships and community building strategies in line with the NDIA’s program requirements.

Requirements:

- Degree in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Physiotherapy) or other relevant professional field
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood development, developmental delay and disability, and the early intervention service sector
- Experience in coordinating and facilitating consumer and community engagement events and activities within allocated the budget
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate community awareness programs
- Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS, the ECEI approach and early childhood intervention best practice principles
- Proven ability to complete child development assessments and prepare reports
- Proven ability to work with children with developmental delay or disability and their families
- Demonstrated knowledge of family centred practice and commitment to the provision of services that reflect evidence-based best practice
- Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet agreed deadlines
- Awareness and understanding of the functional and social impact of disability and the importance of social inclusion
- High level verbal and written communication including the ability to engage and communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds , tailoring communication to suit specific target groups
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to respond effectively to initial high volumes of work
- Ability to identify key stakeholders and build strong effective relationships and partnerships internally and externally
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain an ethical, inclusive and non-judgemental approach to service delivery
- High level information management competency including the ability to use technology to record, retrieve and report information
- Demonstrated understanding of “child safe” environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills and the ability to make timely and thought-out decisions
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities with minimal supervision required
- Capacity to work creatively and independently, demonstrate initiative and actively develop a supportive team environment
