Full-Time Opportunity Available

At RFBI, we embrace technology and the opportunities it creates, but the heart of People & Culture remains deeply human. Helping our people learn is about more than completing training. It’s about building the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide safe, compassionate care and services that make a difference to those we serve.

Our values of Happiness, Integrity, Inclusion, Respect and Service guide how we work. In this role, you’ll help put those values into practice by making learning clear and accessible, offering patient and practical support and helping our people feel supported to do their jobs well. If you enjoy organising, working with systems and helping people, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

Join our Sydney CBD Head Office People & Culture team and support the day-to-day coordination and administration of learning across our aged care and seniors living services throughout NSW and the ACT. You’ll help keep our learning systems and training records up to date, organise learning activities, follow up training completion and assist with preparing learning materials.

This is a hands-on, early career opportunity for someone who has already built a foundation in learning and development, training administration, human resources or a related administrative role. You’ll learn from experienced colleagues while taking responsibility for getting the day-to-day work done accurately and on time.

There’s plenty of practical work to get through. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being involved, takes ownership of their tasks and follows things through.

About You

You’re organised, approachable and happy to get stuck into the work.

You understand that the details matter…whether that’s assigning the right training, updating a record, checking a report or following up an outstanding task. You’re comfortable with routine administration, but also curious about how things work and willing to ask questions.

You communicate clearly and confidently, whether you’re helping an employee over the phone, following up training with a manager or preparing learning materials. You write well,

have a sharp eye for grammar and detail and can turn information into clear, easy-to-follow instructions.

We value people who communicate well. That means knowing when an email is appropriate and when a conversation is the better option.

You’ll bring:

- Practical experience in learning and development, training administration, human resources or a related administrative role.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, accurate emails, instructions and learning materials.
- Confident verbal communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly and respond to questions.
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to grammar, spelling and presentation.
- Confidence using systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks.
- The ability to work independently, along with a willingness to learn, take direction and work collaboratively.

Experience using a learning management system would be particularly useful. Experience in aged care or a related sector, or helping prepare training materials, would also be welcome.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Setting up users, assigning training and updating records in our learning management systems.
- Helping employees and managers access learning and resolve straightforward system enquiries.
- Organising training sessions, sending invitations and keeping track of attendance.
- Checking training completion, sending reminders and following up outstanding requirements.
- Maintaining training lists, schedules and learning resources.
- Running regular reports and checking information for accuracy.
- Helping prepare and update presentations, learning materials and online training content.

- Collecting learner feedback and collating responses.
- Gathering training records and supporting documents for audits and reviews.
- Providing day-to-day administrative support for learning and development activities.

Why RFBI?

RFBI has been supporting older Australians since 1880 and today, provides residential aged care, retirement living and home care services across NSW and the ACT.

While this role is based at Head Office, your work will support the people delivering care and services to older Australians across our villages, homes and communities.

We’re a genuinely supportive, values-led team that enjoys working together, shares plenty of laughs and believes in helping people grow.

Before You Apply

Candidates invited to interview will be asked to complete a short, practical writing exercise without AI assistance. This will help us assess your ability to prepare explicit, accurate written communications and learning materials.

As part of our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to older Australians, the successful candidate will be required to complete a National Police Check and Pre-Employment Functional Assessment and provide evidence of their right to work in Australia.

Ready to Apply?

If you’re looking to build your experience in learning and development, enjoy working with people and take pride in getting things done well, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a covering letter of no more than one page addressing:

- Your relevant experience and why you’re interested in this role.
- A specific example of a task or activity you’ve coordinated that required attention to detail and follow-through, including your responsibilities and the outcome.

At the end of your covering letter, please state whether you used AI tools to prepare your application and, if so, briefly explain how. Using AI is not a barrier to consideration, but we expect your application to accurately reflect your own experience and capabilities.

Only applications that include a covering letter addressing these points and the AI declaration will be considered for shortlisting.
