Local Government Engineering Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Cadet Engineering Surveyor to join our team in Port Macquarie, NSW. This is a full time position offering an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to get a fully paid uni degree whilst working on diverse projects across the civil and structural engineering sector.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Assisting senior surveyors with site surveys, including distance and angle measurements, using modern surveying equipment

Setting out engineering projects on-site and verifying alignment and levels to ensure compliance with design specifications

Collecting survey data in the field and assisting with data processing and analysis

Maintaining and calibrating surveying instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability

Supporting the compilation of survey information into technical reports and site plans

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Completed Year 12

Be eligible and willing to enrol in an appropriate university course

The role is also open to candidates that are currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant tertiary qualification

A strong foundation in mathematics and physics, with demonstrated aptitude in technical subjects

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation

Attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all aspects of surveying work

Physical fitness and willingness to work in varying outdoor conditions and on construction sites





A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to various project locations

A professional and collaborative approach to working within a team setting
