Full Job Description

An established and highly regarded Early Learning Service in Tamworth is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Casual Centre Cook to join their dedicated team.
This position is offered on a casual basis to start, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role in the future for the right candidate.
About the Role

As our Casual Centre Cook, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and serving balanced meals and snacks that meet the nutritional requirements of young children. You will maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen while ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years.
- Cater for dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Assist with food ordering,



stock rotation and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with NSW food handling regulations and centre policies.
- Work collaboratively with educators and families to support children’s wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate food safety records and documentation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in a cooking or food preparation role.
- Knowledge of nutrition requirements for young children (preferred).
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Flexibility and reliability to cover shifts as required.
- A positive, friendly and team-focused attitude.

Essential Requirements

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable but not essential).
- Right to work in Australia.
