Salary: $80,000 per year + superannuation

About the Position

Surfish is a well-established beachfront Barand restaurant located within the iconic Bondi Pavilion at Bondi Beach. Operating for over 20 years, we are committed todelivering exceptional customer service in a vibrant, fast-paced hospitality workplace.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bar Manager to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our bar and beverage service.

The Bar Manager will report to the Business Owners and will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities

Managing and overseeing daily bar operations to ensure efficient service and high standards of customer satisfaction.

Supervising, training and coordinating bar staff to maintain consistent service standards.

Preparing staff rosters, allocating duties and monitoring labour costs.

Managing beverage inventory, including stock control, ordering, supplier coordination and minimising wastage.

Monitoring beverage costs, sales performance and profitability.

Overseeing the preparation and presentation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers and coffees.

Maintaining and updating beverage menus and pricing in consultation with management.





Ensuring compliance with NSW liquor licensing regulations, Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements and workplace health and safety standards.

Handling customer enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally.

Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards throughout the bar area.

Coordinating with front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

Successful Applicants Must Have:

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bar management or a similar hospitality management position.

Strong knowledge of bar operations, beverage preparation and service standards.

Demonstrated experience supervising, training and managing staff.

Experience in stock management, inventory control, ordering and cost management.

Knowledge of NSW liquor licensing regulations and Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Strong organisational skills, leadership abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced hospitality environment.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
