Medical Practice Practice Manager – Full-Time

About the Prospect

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and highly organized Practice Manager to join a well-established, busy general practice located in Ellenbrook.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable Practice Manager who has proven experience managing a busy, multi-doctor GP medical centre and enjoys leading a team, improving practice operations and maintaining high standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice, working closely with the practice owners, doctors, nurses and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of a busy, multi-doctor general practice.

Lead, supervise, support and motivate reception, administration and nursing teams.

Manage staff rostering, leave arrangements, recruitment, onboarding and performance.

Oversee payroll preparation, timesheets and staff-related administration.

Ensure efficient appointment scheduling, patient flow and reception operations.

Maintain a strong understanding of Medicare item numbers, MBS billing, bulk billing, private billing and Medicare compliance.

Confidently use Best Practice clinical software and oversee practice management systems.

Monitor practice performance, billing processes and administrative efficiency.

Maintain policies, procedures, accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.

Manage patient enquiries, complaints and operational challenges professionally.





Coordinate with doctors, allied health providers, specialists, suppliers and external service providers.

Identify opportunities to improve workflows, staff performance and overall practice efficiency.

Foster a positive, respectful and supportive workplace culture.

About You

Proven experience as a Practice Manager in an Australian GP medical centre.

Experience managing a busy practice with multiple GPs and a multidisciplinary team.

Strong working knowledge of Best Practice software.

Excellent understanding of Medicare billing, MBS item numbers and general practice administration.

Demonstrated leadership, staff management and rostering experience.

Experience with payroll processes and staff administration.

Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritise responsibilities and manage a demanding practice environment.

Skilled, reliable, proactive and committed to delivering excellent patient service.

Experience with general practice accreditation, financial reporting and continuous quality improvement will be highly regarded.
