Altona Sports Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Full time Duty Manager / Supervisor to join our friendly and qualified team.

In this hands‑on leadership role, you will help oversee the smooth operation of our bar, gaming and function areas. You will supervise staff, provide excellent service to members and guests, and take responsibility for venue operations when the Assistant Manager is not on duty.

The position is approximately 40 hours per week and includes a combination of day, evening and weekend shifts. No graveyard shifts are required.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate bar, gaming and function staff.
- Lead the team in delivering friendly and professional customer service.
- Manage venue operations in the absence of the Assistant Manager.
- Monitor gaming activities and support compliance with relevant legislation and club procedures.
- Complete cash handling, reconciliation and financial transactions accurately and securely.
- Respond to operational or customer service issues calmly and effectively.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and organisation throughout the venue.
- Assist with the training, development and ongoing support of staff.
- Support gaming operations and provide assistance with gaming machine procedures.
- Contribute positively to the continued success and growth of the Club.

About You

Previous experience in a bar, gaming or hospitality supervisory role.

- At least 6 to 12 months of relevant bar or gaming experience.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team.




- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Sound cash-handling and reconciliation experience.
- Good knowledge of Victorian liquor licensing and gaming requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A practical and confident approach to problem‑solving.
- A positive, reliable and adaptable attitude.
- Availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays as required.

A current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, or the ability to obtain one before commencing.

- A current Victorian gaming industry employee licence.
- Gaming machine training relevant to the operation of the Club’s gaming facilities.
- Full Australian working rights.

Experience using System One would be advantageous but is not essential.
