About us

Mid North Coast Community College (MNCCC) is a not-for-profit community education organisation working across Port Macquarie, Taree and Kempsey. Our Yulinbal campus in Taree is home to students who learn best outside mainstream school. Positive food is a big part of how we look after them.

The role

We’re looking for a School Chef to run the kitchen at Yulinbal. This is a hands‑on role for a chef who wants to own the food, not just make it.

You’ll

- Prepare breakfast, morning tea and lunch for our students each school day
- Design healthy, quality menus that students actually want to eat
- Manage ordering, stock control and food costs
- Run the Yulinbal cafe and make good coffee
- Act as the Food Safety Supervisor and keep our outlets inspection‑ready




- Work with our marketing team on new ideas for the kitchens and cafes

About you

You’ll need

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or solid experience as a commercial cook
- A NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificate, or willingness to get one before you start
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (employment), or the ability to obtain one
- Experience with menu costing, ordering and stock control
- The ability to plan ahead, work on your own and hit service times every day
- A friendly, respectful way of working with young people

It would be great if you also have

- Experience in school or institutional food service
- Cafe experience, including cash handling and POS
- A current first aid certificate and driver licence

Monday to Friday, no nights or weekends
