Mahob at Moos is a café and restaurant located in Meeniyan, a small town in South Gippsland 2 hours' drive out from Melbourne, Victoria. We are looking for an experienced chef to join our small close knit and talented culinary team. This is a full time position, offering the opportunity to work in a vibrant café restaurant environment and to contribute in the creation of high-quality dishes.

Key responsibilities

Menu planning & food preparation and cooking of meals to a high standard and to menu specifications

Ensuring all food preparation and cooking processes adhere to food and safety regulations and monitoring quality of the preparation and presentation of the dishes prepared

Understand and practice high level hygiene processes in food preparation, storage and cooking

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Manage and oversee stock, costings, ordering and inventory control

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and maintain consistency and efficiency

Supporting our front of house team where needed

About you

Minimum of 1 year experience as a chef





Strong culinary skills and a passion and understanding of food and love of creating high-quality meals

Excellent time management, problem-solving and multitasking skills

Can do attitude and an eye for detail

Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards

A team player that can work collaboratively as well as independently when needed

Availability to work on weekends
