Join us at Swings & Roundabouts, an established Margaret River wine and hospitality business based in Yallingup. We're looking for an experienced wine-industry Accountant to take responsibility for our wine accounting, management reporting and commercial financial analysis.

Working 24 hours per week, you'll oversee wine inventory, costing, margins and WET, lead budgeting and forecasting, finalise month-end reporting and provide practical financial insight to the business.

Our Accounts Assistant manages much of the day-to-day transactional accounting, routine month-end preparation and system reconciliations. You'll provide technical review and sign-off while mentoring and developing their capability.

The Role

· Take responsibility for wine accounting and reporting across inventory, stock movements, production costs, cost of goods and margins.

· Review wine stocktakes and inventory reconciliations and investigate material discrepancies.

· Prepare wine sales, margin and channel performance reporting to support commercial decisions.

· Work closely with our external tax accountants to reconcile Wine Equalisation Tax calculations, supporting BAS information and assist with year-end financial statements, tax requirements and audit requests.

· Review month-end workpapers, journals and reconciliations prepared by the Accounts Assistant, and finalise monthly management accounts including P&L;, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

· Mentor and develop the Accounts Assistant and strengthen finance systems, controls and processes.

· Prepare monthly management accounts,



including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting including variance analysis, trend reporting and commentary for the General Manager and operational leaders.

· Mentor and technically develop the Accounts Assistant through regular coaching and feedback.

· Prepare submissions for grants and other statutory reporting requirements such as Containers for Change and ABS reporting.

· Champion system integration between Xero accounting software and POS/inventory management systems

About You

· Wine-industry accounting experience is essential. You understand how wine production, inventory, stock movements, margins and WET flow through the accounts, and can translate financial information into clear, practical advice.

· Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

· Hands-on experience with wine inventory, production costing, stock movements, margins and WET.

· Strong month-end review, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience.

· Experience reviewing work and mentoring an Accounts Assistant or finance team member.

· Strong Excel and systems capability, including experience working across accounting, inventory, POS and payment platforms. Xero experience is essential. Restoke, lightspeed and shopify is highly regarded.

· CA or CPA qualified or working towards qualification is preferential.
