An apprenticeship opens the door for you to become a tradesperson. “Tradies” get the best of both worlds learning the theory behind their trade while spending most of their time gaining hands-on experience in the field, rather than sitting in a classroom. Tradies are considered to be professionals with a high level of both practical and theoretical knowledge of their trade.

The role: ATC Work Smart is seeking motivated people for a range of apprenticeship opportunities based in Geraldton, WA. You’ll work alongside qualified tradespeople, gain practical experience and develop your skills through on-the-job learning and off-the-job training while working towards a qualification in your chosen trade.

Available apprenticeships in Mechanical Fitters, Electrical, Boilermakers, Cabinetmaking, Glaziers, Carpentry.

Key responsibilities will vary by trade and may include:

- Assist qualified tradespeople with day-to-day tasks and practical work relevant to your chosen trade.
- Learn to safely use and care for the tools, equipment and materials used in your trade.
- Assist with measuring, marking, preparing and handling materials as required.
- Learn to follow instructions and interpret job requirements,



drawings or plans relevant to your work.
- Attend required training, complete learning activities and build your practical skills under supervision.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and keep your work area clean, safe and organised.

What we're looking for: You don’t need previous trade experience to apply. We’re looking for people who are keen to begin a trade career, willing to learn and ready to take a practical, hands-on approach. You’ll bring:

- An interest in practical work and good attention to detail
- A positive attitude, reliability and the ability to work as part of a team
- A genuine interest in your chosen trade and a willingness to learn to use tools and equipment safely
- A commitment to workplace safety and to meeting the requirements of your chosen apprenticeship

Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
