Great berries start with great people.
Nutrano is seeking an experienced berry growing professional to lead our existing blueberry operation and help shape the next chapter of our berry business. This is a pivotal role. You will lead the farms that deliver our fruit to customers, and shape the next chapter of our berry business. You will bring the discipline to run a high-performing operation today, and the vision and drive to build the farms of tomorrow, including greenfield development from the first sod turned to the first pick.
You will have real influence, the backing of a growing business and the chance to leave a lasting mark on the industry. If you are ready to turn ambition into harvest, we would love to hear from you.
The opportunity
Reporting to the EGM Farming & Growth, you will take ownership of the day-to-day performance and longer term development of Nutrano’s berry operations.

Leading a specialist team across operations, agronomy and irrigation, you will connect growing decisions with business outcomes, delivering quality fruit, strong yields and sustainable commercial performance.
What you will be responsible for
- Drive the operational and commercial performance of the existing blueberry farm, taking accountability for yield, quality, costs and team performance.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the berry business, identifying opportunities to improve performance and support future growth.
- Lead greenfield development, including project planning, procurement, infrastructure installation and new plantings.
- Manage daily and seasonal farming activities, including pruning, nutrition, irrigation, pest management, harvesting and postharvest handling.

yield and fruit quality.
- Manage operating budgets and resources, prepare crop forecasts and contribute to development budgets and investment planning.
- Build a capable, engaged team through clear expectations, coaching and effective workforce planning.
- Champion safety, food quality and responsible farming practices.
- Build strong relationships with farm and packshed colleagues, suppliers, industry partners and the wider Nutrano team.
About you You are an experienced berry growing leader who combines practical expertise with commercial judgement. You enjoy taking responsibility for an operation, developing people and turning growth plans into results.
You will bring
- At least ten years of relevant farm or horticultural management experience, including commercial berry growing experience, which is essential. Experience in blueberries, raspberries or blackberries is welcomed.
- A robust understanding of the berry industry, emerging growing practices and opportunities for improvement.
- A track record of delivering yield, quality and cost outcomes in a commercial farming operation.
- Proven greenfield development experience, including establishing new plantings and coordinating farm infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge of irrigation, plant nutrition, crop health and pest and disease management.
- Experience managing budgets, production plans, crop forecasts and operational reporting.
- The ability to lead, inspire and develop farm teams while maintaining clear accountability.
- Practical knowledge of farm machinery and maintenance, and confidence using technology to improve performance.
- A current unrestricted Australian manual driver licence.
Qualifications in horticulture, agriculture or business will be highly regarded. Travel to other Nutrano sites may be required. Why join Nutrano?
You will have real influence over an established operation and its next stage of growth. With direct access to senior farming leadership and the support of a broader produce business, you will help shape how Nutrano’s berry operations develop and perform over time.
