About the role

Bernti's Mountain Inn is seeking a talented Cook to join our culinary team on a casual basis. Based in the picturesque village of Thredbo, NSW, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment whilst enjoying the stunning mountain surroundings. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests, preparing high-quality meals that showcase culinary excellence and maintain the high standards Bernti's Mountain Inn is known for.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Ensuring all food is prepared to the highest quality standards and presented attractively
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Managing food inventory and assisting with stock rotation and wastage minimisation
- Following all health and safety protocols and food handling procedures
- Collaborating with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient service delivery
- Adapting to menu changes and special dietary requirements as needed
- Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen atmosphere

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Cook in a professional kitchen or hospitality establishment
- Robust knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and allergen awareness
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards




- Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing demands in a casual role
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in food handling and safety are desirable
- Experience in a mountain resort or alpine hospitality setting would be advantageous
