OSMAC Apprenticeships is seeking motivated and enthusiastic First-Year Electronic Security Apprentices to join an established security company based in Cairns, servicing the wider Cairns region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent school graduate to gain a nationally recognised trade qualification while earning a full-time income and learning from experienced technicians.

About the trade

Electronic security is an exciting and growing industry combining electronics, program, networking and hands-on technical work. Working alongside experienced Electronic Security Technicians, you will learn how to install, program, maintain and troubleshoot a range of electronic security and communication systems.

Your training and practical experience will include:

- Installing CCTV cameras and video surveillance systems.

-Setting up electronic access control systems and security alarms.

-Installing intercom and communication systems.

-Learning how security systems connect through computer networks.

-Installing and testing data and security cabling.

-Programming and configuring electronic security equipment.





-Identifying faults and learning how to troubleshoot technical problems.

-Servicing and maintaining security systems across different customer sites.

You will gain practical experience working across a variety of locations throughout the Cairns region, including schools, hospitals, airports, aged care facilities, government buildings and commercial businesses.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will develop valuable skills in electronics, networking, communications and security technology while completing your nationally recognised Certificate III in Security Equipment.

No previous experience is necessary. You will receive on-the-job training and guidance from experienced technicians as you develop your skills and work towards becoming a qualified Electronic Security Technician.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you: • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

• Hold a current P1, P2 or Open Driver's Licence

• Be able to obtain a White Card and complete any required police and drug and alcohol checks.

• Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn the trade

• Have good communication and problem-solving skills

• Able to use basic hand tools and power tools

• Be comfortable working at heights when required
