Recruitment Select is seeking a reliable and hands-on Field Operator to join a leading regional infrastructure organisation responsible for maintaining critical water and wastewater services across Northern Victoria. This opportunity is offered on a casual basis with full-time hours available through to March 2027.

This role will suit candidates with experience in civil construction, plumbing, maintenance, utilities, mechanical trades, landscaping, irrigation, or other outdoor operational environments who enjoy varied work and being part of a team that delivers essential services to the community.

As a Field Operator, you'll assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of water and sewer network infrastructure, helping ensure reliable services are delivered in the Shepparton area.

Responsibilities include:

Maintenance and repair of water and wastewater assets

Meter reading and meter replacement works

Responding to network faults and service requests

Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance

Supporting water quality and network reliability initiatives

Completing required documentation and reporting





Participating in emergency response and on-call activities as required.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful, you will ideally possess:

Experience in any of the following; Plumbing, mechanical maintenance, civil construction, utilities, irrigation, agricultural operations or similar hands-on industries

Experience working with pumps, pipelines or underground assets highly regarded

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication and customer service skills

Basic computer and administrative skills

Current Driver's Licence

Physical capacity to undertake outdoor operational and maintenance work.

Highly Regarded (but not essential):

Trade qualification (Plumbing, Mechanical or similar)

Excavator or Backhoe operating experience

MR Truck Licence

Confined Space Entry

Working at Heights

First Aid Certificate

Pre-Employment Requirements:
