Highbury Executive is partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed technology business to appoint a hands-on Finance Manager as it enters its next stage of growth.

This is a standout opportunity for a Senior Accountant ready to step into their first Finance Manager role. You’ll take ownership of the finance function, work closely with the CFO and lead a small finance team, while gaining exposure to budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis and private equity reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will:

- Lead the month-end close, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews, delivering accurate and timely management reporting to senior leadership and the private equity sponsor
- Manage, coach and develop the finance team across accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, ensuring strong financial controls and efficient operations
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, providing variance analysis and commercial insights on revenue, margins and performance for senior management,



the board and investors
- Coordinate half-year reviews and year-end audits, including statutory accounts, audit schedules and auditor queries
- Oversee tax compliance, including BAS/GST, PAYG, payroll tax, income tax and R&D; tax incentive claims, working with external advisers to ensure accurate, timely lodgements
- Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting processes and internal controls to support business growth, acquisitions and system implementations

REQUIREMENTS

- CA or CPA qualified with 3–5 years’ relevant finance and accounting experience
- Robust technical accounting skills, with hands-on experience in month-end close, financial reporting, tax compliance and audit
- Experience managing or mentoring a small finance team, with the confidence to take ownership of the finance function
- Experience with Power BI, reporting automation or finance process improvement (highly regarded)
- Technology sector experience and private equity reporting exposure (advantageous, but not essential)
