Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will assist across all aspects of farm operations, helping ensure our crops are well maintained, farming activities run efficiently, and production targets are achieved.

No two days will necessarily be the same, with a variety of duties across crop management, harvesting, irrigation, machinery operation and general farm maintenance.

About the Role

As a Farm Hand, you will play an important role in supporting the daily operations of Darwin Fruit Farms.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Undertaking general farm duties including planting, picking, deleafing, desuckering, bagging and other crop management activities.
- Assisting with harvesting, grading, sorting and handling produce.
- Carrying out basic plant maintenance, including pruning, mowing and weed control.
- Assisting with fertilising, fertigation and crop protection activities as directed.
- Supporting irrigation activities, including checking sprinklers, identifying leaks and undertaking basic repairs.
- Assisting with land preparation and general farm development activities.
- Operating tractors, farm machinery and equipment as required.
- Safely attaching and operating farm implements and equipment.
- Assisting with general farm infrastructure and maintenance.
- Maintaining clean, protected and organised work areas.
- Ensuring tools, machinery and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Following all workplace health and safety policies, procedures and protected work practices.
- Using machinery, chemicals and equipment in accordance with training and approved procedures.
- Reporting hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.




- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, food safety and biosecurity

About You

You are a dependable and motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors and getting involved in all aspects of farm operations.

You take pride in your work, are willing to learn and understand the importance of working safely, efficiently and as part of a team.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience in a farm, agricultural or horticultural environment.
- Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery (highly regarded).
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and maintenance.
- The ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Basic computer skills, including email, Word and Excel.
- A reliable attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of farm duties.
- Current First Aid Certificate (preferred).
- MR Driver's Licence (highly regarded).
