Technical Project Manager | Telecom Core Networks

We're looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong telecommunications background to lead complex Mobile Core Network transformation, upgrade and migration projects.

This is a hands-on technical delivery role requiring someone who genuinely understands telecom infrastructure, not just project governance.

You’ll work across Core Network Engineering, IP/Transport, Security, Operations and external vendors, managing delivery from design and planning through to implementation, live-network migration and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end delivery of Mobile Core Network transformation, upgrades and migrations.
- Manage technical delivery across Mobile IP Core, IP/MPLS Transport and Telco Cloud environments.
- Coordinate engineering teams, network operations and external vendors.
- Oversee solution design, integration, testing, deployment and production cutovers.
- Manage live-network migrations, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Own project schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and change control.
- Coordinate CAB approvals, deployment windows and contingency planning.
- Manage vendor deliverables, technical milestones and operational acceptance.
- Provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders and project governance forums.

What We're Looking For

- 15+ years' experience in telecommunications, including significant technical project management experience.
- Proven delivery of Mobile Core, IMS or IP network transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of Mobile IP Core architecture and IP/MPLS transport networks.
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, QoS and IPv4/IPv6.
- Experience managing live-network migrations, core upgrades or network swaps.
- Experience working in Tier-1 telecommunications operator environments.
- Exposure to multi-vendor environments including Ericsson, Nokia and Cisco.
- Strong understanding of Telco Cloud, Data Centre connectivity and Core-to-RAN dependencies.
- Excellent stakeholder, vendor and commercial management skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification highly regarded.
