Harry Maxwell are recruiting for an experienced Lead Planner on behalf of a well-established Australian contractor delivering major mining, resources and infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

We are looking for a senior contractor-side planner with experience across mining, NPI, civil, SMP and/or major infrastructure projects, combined with advanced Primavera P6 capability and a strong understanding of construction delivery.

About the Role

Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and site teams, you’ll take ownership of project planning and scheduling from schedule development and baseline through progress measurement, forecasting and delivery.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can build and interrogate complex construction schedules, identify critical-path issues and develop practical recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain and control Primavera P6 construction schedules, including baselines, logic, milestones and critical paths
- Monitor progress, forecast completion and deliver look-ahead, schedule variance and recovery planning
- Integrate engineering, procurement and construction activities, ensuring schedules reflect actual construction sequencing, resources and site progress




- Work closely with project leadership and provide transparent schedule reporting to internal and client stakeholders

About You - Essential

- 8–15+ years’ planning/project controls experience within construction, mining, resources or infrastructure
- Senior Planner, Lead Planner or Planning Manager experience
- Strong contractor-side project delivery experience
- Advanced hands-on Primavera P6 capability
- Proven experience developing and owning complex construction schedules
- Strong critical path, forecasting, look-ahead and recovery planning capability
- Previous FIFO experience and willingness to work a 2:1 roster
- Australian working rights

About You - Desirable

- Rio Tinto or other major Australian mining client experience
- Western Australian/Pilbara project experience
- Multidiscipline civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and/or NPI exposure
- Experience leading or mentoring planners
