Melbourne
Over the past 18 years, Key Business Advisors has become a leading business management and HR consulting company providing outsourced HR solutions to small-to-medium businesses throughout Australia. We work with associations, franchise groups and independent businesses to take them to the next level from ‘Good to Great!’
What are we looking for?
If you have the passion and drive to make a difference by providing professional HR advice and support, we want to talk to you.
At Key Business Advisors, we are focused on driving strategic outcomes, building great teams, improving workplace cultures, and helping our clients achieve stronger business and people outcomes.
We do meaningful work and are trusted to deliver results. You will need to be a team player, have a genuine passion for business, and not be afraid to provide the right advice on what is best for your clients. Never fear; our team of professionals will train you the 'KBA Way'.
You must have strong business acumen and an eye for detail that will make a difference as an experienced outsourced HR professional. We work in a fast-paced environment across different industries and types of clients, and they come with different challenges and rewards that empower us to do better. If this appeals to you, and you want to go to the next level in challenging yourself to deliver on every aspect of HR/IR Advice, including helping companies improve their business to drive better people and culture outcomes, we would like to meet you.
No two days or weeks are the same. From building relationships with clients, attending client events, working from our office or providing support at a client site, your job is to provide tailored HR advice and support, delivering HR best practices. You will work closely with our experienced team as we team up to support our clients with our services. Many of our team members have started with us in the role of HR Advisor and progressed to HR Consultant,
so there is a clear career pathway for the right person.
Some examples of what we do with our clients are:
- We take our clients from good to great, as per the book of the same name by Jim Collins
- We are the ‘go-to’ company helping with all people-related queries and issues
- We provide sound HR advice and support on all matters, including award and legislation interpretation, Fair Work claims and other IR matters
- We assist our clients with their administration, eg preparing documentation on an employee’s lifecycle such as employment contracts, HR policies and processes, position descriptions and much more
- We offer end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and offboarding of employees
- We provide support on performance issues, including carrying out meetings with the owner or manager to help them manage their staff
- We offer HR and Payroll Audits
- We offer payroll processing for our clients
- We assist with people and culture strategies, training and inductions, motivation, and we love to empower leaders
- We offer employer and staff engagement surveys that help link strategy to action
- We support and educate our clients on all the changes that come through from Fair Work and OH&S;/WHS obligations such as Positive Duty and psychosocial hazards
You may be working in the office one day, and the next, you may be at a client site in Melbourne, regional Victoria or interstate, so you will need a current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence. We do offer flexibility; however, the role is essentially on‑site, either in the office or at our client's premises.
Who are we looking for?
- Someone who can match our energy and brings plenty of grit and a passion for business
- Someone who loves to be proactive and can handle reactive work
- At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources or a similar role
- Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources or a similar discipline
- Your interpersonal and communication skills are top‑notch, and you've never been afraid of a little admin
- Your attention to detail is laser‑sharp, and you love to organise things
- You have a collaborative style that is focused on how you do things just as much as what you are doing
- You are confident and have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex queries
- You have careful attention to detail and strong planning and time management skills
- You are comfortable working with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll systems
- Proven experience and driven to achieve set targets and KPIs
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
