Mobility Access Modifications (MAM) is looking for an experienced, trade-qualified Residential Carpenter for timber construction and home modification projects across Melbourne.

If you're skilled in timber framing, decking, stairs, steps or similar residential structures, we'd like to hear from you.

This is a full-time weekday ABN subcontractor opportunity with an established Melbourne business helping make homes safer and more accessible.

What You'll Do

- Build and install timber ramps, steps, landings and bathroom accessibility modifications.
- Complete timber framing, structural assembly and residential installation work.
- Take site measurements, interpret drawings and make necessary on-site adjustments.
- Carry out minor concreting for landings and pathways (equipment provided).
- Ensure work meets applicable building, safety and accessibility requirements.
- Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and team members.
- Use a company iPad to record job photos, notes and updates.
- Work with the installation team, participate in meetings and suggest practical improvements.

What We're Looking For

Essential:





- Trade-qualified Carpenter with at least 3 years' relevant experience.
- Proven residential or domestic carpentry experience.
- Experience building timber ramps, steps, decks, stairs or similar structures.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility standards.
- Ability to read drawings, solve practical problems and work independently.
- Strong workmanship, attention to detail, safety awareness and communication skills.
- Ability to safely undertake physically demanding carpentry work, including lifting, bending and prolonged standing.
- Own carpentry tools and a valid ABN.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Appropriate Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship.
- Availability for 6:00 am starts at Preston when required.
- Flexibility to work directly at customer sites or from our Preston warehouse, depending on the schedule.

Highly Regarded, But Not Essential:

- Bathroom renovation experience.
- Home accessibility modification experience.

Previous accessibility ramp experience isn't essential if you have strong, relevant residential timber construction skills.

Work Arrangements

Projects are located across Melbourne. Depending on the day's schedule, you may start directly at a customer's home or attend our Preston warehouse to prepare and load materials.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Police Check and pre-employment medical assessment.
