We are currently seeking a Female Samoan-Speaking Disability Support Worker to support an aged client living in Emerton, NSW.
About the Role
This is an ongoing opportunity supporting a client both at home and in the community.
Shift Schedule
- Tuesday and Thursday
- 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Support Required
- Community Participation (including transport to medical appointments and community activities)
- Domestic Assistance (light household cleaning)
- Social support and companionship
- Building a positive and supportive relationship with the client
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with community access and social participation
- Provide domestic assistance and light household duties
- Offer meaningful companionship and social support
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's wellbeing or support needs
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, community care, or a related field
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries
- Patient, reliable, compassionate, and respectful approach
- Comfortable supporting community access activities
- Ability to communicate with a Samoan-speaking client and support their cultural preferences
Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability Support, Aged Care, or related qualification (preferred)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Driver's Licence and reliable transportation preferred
