About the role

GIG Radiology Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and passionate Sonographer with a robust interest or expertise in Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound to join our medical imaging team in Rosebud, VIC.

This full-time position offers a diverse clinical caseload centered on advanced MSK examinations alongside general, obstetric, and vascular imaging. Working in a supportive, multi-modality environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient care to the Mornington Peninsula community.

Key responsibilities

- Performing high-quality MSK ultrasound examinations (including joint, tendon, muscle, and nerve assessments), alongside general, obstetric, and vascular scans.
- Operating and maintaining advanced ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal diagnostic image quality.
- Positioning patients comfortably and explaining procedures clearly to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Accurately identifying normal and abnormal sonographic findings and communicating critical findings to radiologists and referring clinicians.
- Maintaining precise patient records, documentation, and compliance with clinical quality standards.
- Adhering to radiation safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety protocols.
- Fostering a collaborative, professional, and empathetic setting for both patients and team members.

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) or Australian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) / DMU.
- Post-graduate qualification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (or equivalent accredited qualification).




- Demonstrated clinical competence and strong proficiency in MSK ultrasound, with experience in general, OB/GYN, and vascular scanning.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to clinical excellence and image quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients, radiologists, and referring doctors.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
- Current First Aid certification (desirable).
