Daphne is like a restaurantuers answer to a pub, but with really really good food and booze. It’s a comfortable, down-to-earth spot on Lygon Street for the neighbourhood: a pint after work, a carafe with friends, someone’s grandmother’s 70th. Fun, familiar and yum.
At Daphne, hospitality is the name of the game. It’s at the core of everything we do. Summer’s coming and it’s going to be a big one, so we’re after a robust casual section waiter to join our small (but very busy) team.
The role

Running your own section and looking after people like they’re regulars, even on their first visit
Talking wine with guests, whether it’s a chilled red on a hot night, something by the carafe or a premium pour. We keep it premium, not precious
Reading the room, not the rulebook. No scripts here,



just genuine hospitality and saying yes whenever you can
Keeping the energy up on a full house and having your team’s back when it’s flat out
Making space for real life: kids, dogs, prams and late-night laughs
Helping out with functions and events over summer

About you

You’ve done a few years on the floor somewhere busy and can hold your own on a big night
You know your wine and genuinely love talking about it
Hospitality is in your bones. You care about people and want them to leave feeling looked after, not managed
You’re relaxed and easygoing, but sharp when it counts
You have your RSA

Availability This is a casual role, but you’ll need to be free for nights, weekends and right through the Christmas and New Year holidays. That’s when we need you most.
