Civil Engineering Draftsperson – Al Jamal Building Construction Pty Ltd

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Draftsperson to support the planning, design, and documentation of civil engineering and construction projects.

Role Overview

This full time position is responsible for preparing detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentation for residential developments and associated civil infrastructure works. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, surveyors, project managers, and construction personnel to ensure drawings accurately reflect design specifications, regulatory requirements, and project objectives.

Job Duties

- Preparing detailed civil engineering drawings, layouts, plans, profiles, sections, and specifications using CAD software and other drafting technologies.
- Producing engineering documentation for roads, drainage systems, stormwater infrastructure, subdivisions, earthworks, and residential development projects.
- Assisting civil engineers in the preparation of design documentation and technical drawings in accordance with Australian Standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Interpreting engineering sketches, survey data, calculations, and design information to develop accurate construction drawings.
- Modifying and updating drawings and plans to reflect engineering design changes, site conditions, and project requirements.




- Preparing quantity calculations, material schedules, and technical documentation to support project planning and delivery.
- Liaising with engineers, surveyors, architects, project managers, and construction personnel to ensure drawings are accurate and coordinated across all project disciplines.
- Conducting drafting quality reviews to ensure plans comply with project specifications, local authority requirements, and construction standards.
- Maintaining drawing registers, document control systems, and technical records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assisting with site inspections and evaluating field information to support the preparation and revision of engineering drawings and documentation.

Skills & Experience

- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Engineering Design, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson or in a similar drafting role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent engineering drafting software.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and technical drawing standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering designs, survey information, and technical specifications.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
