Mechanical Fitter – Defence | $69–$71/hr + Penalties | Casual project to July 2027 | Mid-January Start
Chandler Macleod is recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters for upcoming roles with a major client based in Osborne. These roles commence ASAP on a casual assignment through to July 2027.
This is a great opportunity to join a high-profile defence project, working on mechanical assembly and installation in a safety-focused, high-standard environment.

- Defence project exposure with potential extension (business needs permitting)
- Fortnightly roster with an RDO every second Friday

Your background
You’ll bring solid experience in mechanical assembly / installation within defence and/or heavy industrial environments, with a reliable,
hands-on attitude and strong safety mindset.
Essential requirements (must have)
- Australian Citizen
- Trade Certificate (Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Fitter)
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months)
- Confined Space ticket (refreshed within the last 2 years)
- Working at Heights + EWP tickets
- Driver’s licence + own transport
Desirable
- Hepatitis A & B vaccinations
- Basic computer / digital job recording skills
Shift pattern
- Day shift: ~7:00am–4:00pm
- Afternoon shift: ~4:00pm–12:30am
